We organise events and workshops to promote discussion and further involvement in the exhibition programme. To date examples include workshops in book-binding, life drawing and story telling. In a busy hospital, it is often difficult for staff to find time to get involved in any of the activities. To give them the opportunity for 'time out' and to create a calming space for patients and visitors as they pass through, we organise music events at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Events are based on suggestions made by staff and patients. A selection includes a jester in the foyer, a cellist in the sanctuary and a folk musician in the entrance hall.
